Geboren uit de gestripte passie van een man, Claudio Castiglioni, voor sportfietsen en gebouwd door de meest briljante ontwerper van twee wielen, Massimo Tamburini, ontmoette de wereld in de herfst van 1997 de MV Agusta F4. Na twintig jaar vergetelheid keert het legendarische merk van de competitieve triomfen van Carlo Ubbiali, Mike Hailwood en Giacomo Agostini terug om de klassieke architectuur te herbeleven van de glorieuze 'Italiaanse school' die toebehoorde aan GRB, CNA in een 4-cilinder in-lijn meesterwerk ., OPRA, Rondine, Gilera, Benelli en MV.

Met mechanica, chassis en carrosserie die onder talrijke patenten vallen, arriveren tientallen modellen na elkaar die de kwalitatieve limiet van de wereldproductie van motorfietsen steeds verder verleggen. Een legende die, onder de duizend problemen, voortduurt. Insiders twijfelen er niet aan: de MV Agusta F4 is nog steeds de "mooiste motorfiets ter wereld": deze monografie, de eerste die aan het onderwerp gewijd is, vertelt zijn inmiddels legendarische verhaal.
